What the plaque?

What the plaque?

Bacterial plaque is a transparent substance composed of the bacteria living in the mouth and substances from our food such as sugars, carbohydrates and lipids. Especially sugars give the bacteria a chance to feed and thus multiply.

Plaque begins to form soon after eating and, if not removed, can cause very serious problems. At first it causes tooth decay, inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), and over time can lead to periodontitis, causing tooth loss.

Stop plaque now!

Dental plaque is often underestimated because, being invisible, it acts covertly. The best method of removing it is good daily oral hygiene. If this is not performed plaque accumulates and over time tartar forms. This clearly visible in yellow, brown or even black colors.

Tartar is hardened plaque that forms a white covering at the base of the tooth, especially on the inner side of teeth in the front of the mouth and on the outer side of teeth in the back of the mouth. Because tartar forms from plaque, daily brushing and the use of our promis gel can reduce its formation by up to 70%.
